Corporate Retreat with Lake Eyre in Style

Hosting a corporate retreat for a group of senior executives from within your business, or your network of customers or prospective customers, can deliver immense value. Taking management groups away from their everyday work surroundings allows them to focus on strategic goals and organisational development. Retreats involving customers and prospective customers provide invaluable networking opportunities for participants and significant opportunities for you to educate and reinforce your brand value amongst a captive audience of influential decision makers.

A corporate retreat typically involves up to 20 participants and often participants’ partners are invited to attend. The smaller scale of the group lends itself well to team building initiatives designed to enhance relationships and stimulate innovation, in a relaxed environment away from distraction.
These factors combined, you will be amazed at what you can achieve and how beneficial corporate retreats can be for your organisational health.
Corporate retreats are generally conducted in an offsite, residential facility with an external facilitator engaged to lead the agenda and organise team building activities. However more recently, many organisations are opting to complement retreats by adding a unique and memorable experience for their executives or customers to engage, reward and build loyalty.
One such experience is ‘Lake Eyre in Style’, offered by AbsoluteEdge in conjunction with Outback Encounter. Outback Encounter provides custom designed itineraries, focusing on undiscovered private destinations throughout the outback and wilderness of Australia in combination with high profile properties.
Following a retreat in the beautiful surrounds of Adelaide such as the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, or Adelaide Hills, make your way to Adelaide Airport to begin your Lake Eyre adventure:
Day 1
At Adelaide airport, board your private charter flight, the luxurious multi-million dollar Pilatus PC12, to the Flinders Ranges.
You will be met on arrival by your local guide for the journey, Ian Fargher, 4th generation owner of Angorichina sheep station.
After a brief orientation and light lunch at the station, explore the station and surrounds at your leisure. Take a rugged four wheel drive tour, or guided walk of the ancient Flinders Ranges. Observe the wildlife: emus, kangaroos, Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies and the abundant birdlife. Witness station activities such as mustering, sheep shearing and bore runs.
In the evening, relax at the sheep station, enjoy a station dinner and stay overnight in the Shearers Quarters.
Day 2
After breakfast, you will depart Angorichina Station and fly North West over the dry salt Lake Torrens, encountering landscapes of desert plains, magnificent land forms and meandering creek beds. Land at Muloorina Station and see the flowing artesian bore, which spits out hot water into the wetlands of the Frome River, and continue on to Lake Eyre.
Lake Eyre, Australia’s largest inland lake is situated in North East South Australia and is the lowest point in Australia. It rarely has water flowing into it. The lake has had complete fills only three times in the past 160 years with the last significant fill being back in 1974. Partial fills occur every five to ten years. Water bird and fish life abound at Lake Eyre when significant volumes of water arrive. When the lake is 80% full of water, there are up to 85 different varieties of bird life and millions of birds to look at.
Continue your journey to Birdsville where you are able to enjoy an Aussie pub lunch at the iconic outback hotel. If time permits you may like to walk over to the Birdsville Museum which provides an interesting perspective on outback life and a look into yesteryear.
On return to Angorichina station, fly over Coongie Lakes to view the prolific birdlife that flocks to the region with the arrival of water. From here you will fly to the famous dig tree where you are able to land. Proceed with your aerial journey over Innamincka, the Strezlecki Creek and the rugged Northing Flinders Ranges including Freeling Heights, the Mawson Plateau and Arkaroola.
Ian will disembark at Angorichina and the flight will then continue on to Adelaide Airport where it concludes.
Lake Eyre in Style is priced at $2,950 per person for groups of up to 8. All meals and drinks are included in the package, along with accommodation and luxurious air travel in the Pilatus and ground tours and activities.
