Qantas launches international faster, smarter check-in

Qantas has launched the first stage of its international faster, smarter check-in process, with Q card readers now in operation, in key trans-Tasman airports.

The faster, smarter check-in has proven popular in the Australian domestic travel market, particularly amongst business travellers.

Qantas hopes to provide the same streamlined process for trans-Tasman customers, when checking-in for flights to and from New Zealand.

The Q card readers are now operating for services between Sydney, Wellington and Auckland.

Passengers can simply scan their frequent flyer card and passport when they arrive at the airport, to receive their boarding pass.

The Q card check-in service is available for all Platinum, Gold and Silver frequent flyers travelling across the Tasman.

The Q card readers will be progressively introduced to Melbourne, Brisbane, Queenstown and Christchurch.
