Sydney Harbour for Your Next Event

To most, ‘Sydney Harbour venues’ generally conjures up thoughts of Fort Denison, the Sydney Opera House or the international hotel chains that are lucky enough to line or overlook our shores. But there is so much more to our beautiful harbour, for large and small groups - and the long summer days ahead of us are the perfect time to experience it.

For events promoting health and wellbeing, or requiring solitude for focus and strategic thought, Sydney’s harbour venues are a fantastic, easily accessible alternative.
Q station, located on the waters edge at Manly, offers accommodation, heritage tours, yoga retreats and a number of different meeting and conference spaces in heritage buildings, catering for up to 150 guests.
Chowder Bay at Mosman is a similar venue, with a range of activities for your delegates such as tours of the historical sites, a walking track from Taronga Zoo to Balmoral as well as snorkelling, diving and kayaking. The venue also offers accommodation and a number of function venues including Sergeants Mess, catering for up to 250 guests seated.
Cockatoo Island is the largest Island in the harbour and is a great place to take your group with a number of guided walking tours where your guests can learn about convict life and explore the old prison barracks and historic docks. The island offers a number of venues for plenary and breakout sessions, and each is almost a blank canvas ready to be dressed to reflect your event theme.
Ripples at Sydney Wharf, Chowder bay and Milsons point, are great venues catering for private dining functions.
Nielson Park at shark bay offers one of the most beautiful harbour side settings for your event.
Mosman Rowers, Mosman Bay is another great waterfront venue and a heritage listed property offering private dining and spectacular views.
The Bathers Pavilion at Balmoral is the perfect setting for premium meetings and events offering personalised menus, spectacular decor and catering for up to 150 guests.
These venues also have the added benefit of being easily accessible by water from a number of locations around the harbour. Take your group to your destination via a water taxi, which can transfer groups of up to 500 people, by ferry or Jetcat, or a private water limousine, catering for up to 64 guests, offering added comfort and a fully licensed bar.
Another way to discover Sydney harbour is on an Island hopping tour. These were a huge success last year and are set to return this October during a series of events celebrating food, nature and culture as part of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival. Fort Denison will be hosting lunch and dinner experiences and the newly reopened Goat Island will give visitors a taste of life in the 1830’s. Your delegates will love cruising from one island to the next with tailored entertainment and experiences on each.
Whether you’re looking for a conference or special event venue, or a day trip idea for your delegates, Sydney harbour is sure to have something suited to your needs.
