There has been a lot of chatter around how businesses will re-enter travel when restrictions have been lifted, and what the ‘new normal’ will look like.

As we have a diverse range of clients, we have continued to operate travel programs across the university sector, mining and retail clients throughout COVID-19. Whilst not booking flights at the quantities we used to, we have been in close contact with our industry partners to ensure our travellers are safe and we are ready when more travellers are ready to, well, travel.

Some resources direct from our industry partners which may be of interest to you are:

  1. The International Air Transport Association (IATA), is the trade association for the world’s airlines, have released their ‘Biosecurity for Air Transport’ report with ‘A Roadmap for Restarting Aviation’. Along with a video on the ‘Passenger Experience: Temporary Biosecurity Measures’, posted below.

 

  1. The newly formed ‘Tourism Restart Taskforce’ have published their “Restart Timetable” outlining six adjustable steps based on ongoing health advice and State Government decisions, see below.

  1. And Qantas’ new ‘Fly Well’ program includes a range of measures introduced to ensure a safe travel environment.

 

These resources are in no way exhaustive; however, they do provide you with information direct from our leading partners as to the progress of the industry.

What we have always been known to do – is ask you what you want and need. And now is no different. COVID-19 has changed the way you work, your travel needs may now be different… we only know this by asking. Which is why we are launching our ‘TravelEdge Connect’ sessions with our ‘Beyond 2020’ market research.

These sessions aim to explore what the future looks like and importantly; how can we best serve you. Our purpose after all is to ‘enable organisations to do their business better’, which is never more relevant than now. Our team have been preparing this with you, ready to hit the ground running when our sessions start.

Our team has recently returned to the office with camaraderie at an all-time high due to our continued engagement activities throughout quarantine including; daily team ‘stand-ups’, zoom morning teas and afternoon drinks, regular transparent information on our business and the industry and inspirational yet practical ways to help manage ourselves. Despite these activities I am proud of my team’s resilience in such an uncertain time. Whilst it will be a period of time before we have the entire team back on board, as our business evolves, we are bringing back key roles to keep pushing projects forward… we are ready when you are.

I am also delighted to announce our #TravelDreaming competition winner! Fiona! Check out her stunning Venetian pic! We have been running this competition over the past 2 months to reignite wanderlust in us all. Being a company of intrepid travellers with a bunch of clients who love to explore the world we have been really feeling the travel restrictions, as we know you have. Which was why we were not surprised by the inundation of travel pics you sent through… we can tell you are yearning to travel again. Congrats again Fiona, we hope you enjoy the travel voucher and look forward to seeing pics of where you decide to travel… when you can again.
